As the title says, lately I've been looking for the best options but I really have no idea what to do. For example, I keep on hearing more and more about next gen computers ddr 4 ram, 8 core + cpus etc. I'm not really sure on which way I should go or if I should wait a bit more for better things to come along.

If anyone could suggest me a good build as of now that would last me at least a few years, which includes intel and nvidia parts that would be nice (yea I'm a fanboy)..

Edit: I forgot to mention DX 12 and windows 10.

Thanks in advance guys!

1000-2000 USD is my budget, I'm planning to get a 1440p or a 4k screen not too sure about the 4k, not a big fan of big screens. I currently live in Bahrain but I'm ordering everything through amazon apart from the case. Shipping is not included in my budget..

For gaming, as far as I know, i7 CPUs are still overkill as most games will not make use of 8 threads, so you may want to look at the latest generation of i5 CPUs. I'm a fan of overlocking, so I would look at this one for future OCing needs.

For graphics, try this one:

I'm using an msi GTX 780 Ti GAMING and it's been very solid, even pushing it past the pre overclocked specs it ships with. The 980 is the current flasgship and comes with a really good game.

Then Why settle for an i5 4690k rather than the i7 4790k. It is a top of the line intel and not much of a price difference between them. I'm from India and the difference is just 50$. ??

EDIT: The rest of it looks great. Best configuration for a long time.

They're scums, they make $100 profit on a $60 power supply, over priced and outdated items.

Thing is I do streaming and video editing so an i7 would really come in handy.

Do you think this setup with an i7 would last me a good few years, rather than waiting for next gen components?

The i7 has hyperthreading which will act like 8 cores.(virtual) The 4790k is an extremely powerful CPU. It will last for atleast 4-5 yrs. The GTX 980 also is top end for personal / home gaming. It fully supports 4K resolutions at max.
An SLI of the 980 would be an overkill for now....So you can buy one and SLI later when needed. The rest of the system with i7 and even one GTX 980 should last you at least 4 excellent gaming/editing years.

I have no experience with sli, but this is the GPU I have in my amazon cart right now
http://
Lets say I get that, would I need EXACTLY the same card for sli? Because that could be a problem in the future I guess?

Well I'm not in india, I live in Bahrain near Dubai which is in the middle east just incase you didnt know, and it's still really got during the summer but the thing is I constantly have an AC running at 18c-20c-23c MAX

Well currently SLI uses only identical chipsets (any manufacturer but the same model) If you opt for an AMD then Crossfires does support using two completely different AMD Cards( eg 290x and the 3xx series)

Thank you! Similar to the one I had in my amazon cart, but I'll add the ram, psu, and the fans you suggested, appreciate your help :)!
