Need help building FPS monster and maybe pcie raid 0

Good Morning Everyone!

I am looking to upgrade my rig from 3570k to the 6850k. This computer has 2 980 ti in SLI, 360 predator AIO, 2 SSD's, 1000 watt P2, and Phantom 820. I need FPS for my 4k and 1440p 144 hz monitors. Money isn't the biggest concern ATM

I am backordered on the 6850K and need advice for Mobo, DDR4 ram, and help deciding if a RAID 0 config will help games load faster in u.2 or M.2

I was looking at the MSI Godless Carbon that just came out and was looking at 3200 hz ram, but was worried about the 1 M.2 slot. I don't know a ton about the RAID ) config.

Do you guys or gals have any suggestions for me to make a great gaming rig?

I would recommend you to go for i7-6900K instead of i7-6950K as you you are spending high for upgrade. I would recommend you to cancel the backorder and go for i7-6900K. I did not include Case and PSU as you already have. If you have Custom water cooling system then exclude water cooler from the list. MSI Goodlike Gaming Carbon is good but for easy OC an control ASUS suite is better than MSI and both have same features except for RAM MSI can support 128GB where as ASUS can support 64GB but I dont think 128GB will be needed for gaming.

What is the reasoning behind going for the 6900k vs the 6850K?

Then why go with 8cores instead of 6cores?
We should go with 8cores because it prevents gaming performance from droping with multiple background programmes running. And you can do a lot of extra stuff with that extra cores. It will last longer by giving smoother performance.

Raid 0, with even PCI-E SSD, doesn't really add much performance. An 8 core chip is not needed, for gaming, either, and won't need that for quite some time. Most games barely use 4 threads now, and you are expecting them to surpass 12, anytime soon? Also the chances of getting a motherboard, that has the bios update, to run a broadwell-e are pretty low.

They will? Since when? Do you have any links to back up your claim? You are seriously advocating spending twice as much on a CPU when one that's half the cost performs about the same in just about every benchmark out there right now.

OP, a single 950 pro 512gb will be sufficient, for SSD performance. Keep in mind the bios update potentially needing done, for the 6850k, to work, with any current x99 board.

I agree, the 950 Pro is an amazing drive, there's no need for anything more / less. Though I don't really understand the need to upgrade from a 3570K unless you're going for VR. Dual 980TI is more than enough for VR and for 4K gaming at relatively high frame rates.

Another question for you guys. Godlike carbon or wait for the maximus v 10 coming out in 2 weeks. I am looking for best and most stable overlook.

That Godlike Carbon is an awesome motherboard but is a bit on the ridiculous side in terms of cost. You could get an Asrock OC Formula or Asus X99 Deluxe for 1/2 the cost and it will perform the same.
