Hey all,
My cosuin is begining to get in to pc gaming and is wanting to buikld one for his birthday. I have been creating a few on pcpartpicker, but am having trouble with price. His requirements: he wants an i7 processor, must crush triple A games (PubG, Fortnite, DayZ, Rust, etc.), long lasting, 1080p high settings good fps. I made this as an exaple (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wwp4gw), but im trying to lower the price because $1000 is just a little over the budget. Thanks!

This is a common misconception among newer people to the PC community. I7's are hardly any better than i5's for gaming. What refresh rate monitor will he be using? It'd be a huge waste of money if he were to blow all this money on simply a 60 Hz gaming setup. Are the parts without prices already purchased, or? What would be a reasonable amount of money?

No, he hasnt purchased anything yet, not sure what monitor he'll be using, but i can ask. Maybe an i5 7600k would be better? also, a reasonable price would be anywhere under or around $900.

My apologies, I left my preferred merchant settings on. There's no need for a 7000 series chip, they're outdated and are underperforming. Go for the latest coffee lake architecture. If he's not a big overclocker, then there's money to be saved by going for an 8400 instead. The only other things I could cut down on would be the RAM and HDD.

is there any good black and green cases? He likes that color way

if your close to a micro center look at there mb and cpu combo deals. for green and black cases. pick up one of the newer cases now with a glass side panel. put in green led fans. use a rgb motherboard and ram. there are also new rgb cpu cooler out there.

No, just casual play, gaming, and maybe school work. mostly just straight gaming.
