I have the gtx 980 OC (1500mhz boost clock)
3570k@4.5

So I bought the xl2430 (£310) but i wasn't too happy with dark scenes...basically dark scenes = black scene (turns out the monitor may be faulty).

So I've been looking at other options here's 2 monitors that I've been looking/interested in and i'd like to hear your guys opinions

1) Acer Predator XB252Q (£360) https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01N5OD4S1/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&psc=1

2) ASUS ROG Swift PG248Q (£420)
https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-PG248Q-Gaming-Monitor-USB3-0/dp/B01I3KMEAC/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1518856702&sr=1-1&keywords=pg248q

So the acer monitor is on sale at the moment and for an extra £50, compared to my benq i get 240hz and g sync.

Is there a catch when it comes to this acer monitor? It's £60 cheaper than the 144hz g sync asus AND £140 cheaper than the pg258q 240hz g sync asus (link below)

https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-PG258Q-25-inch-24-5-inch-Monitor/dp/B01N6OBWKK/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1518856996&sr=1-1&keywords=pg258q

So what do you guys think? Should i pick up the acer monitor?

I'm also open for further recommendations on other 1080p 144hz+ monitors :).

EXTRA INFO
This monitor will be used for both competitive + casual single player gaming on PC and will also be used for console gaming (yes i understand console is capped at 60hz), So image quality does matter to me.

Thanks everyone :)

If you are able to handle the price find a 27" monitor. I recently went from a 24" 60hz BenQ to a 27" 144hz Viewsonic and DANG. Those 3 inches make a huge difference. Sitting next to each other you will wonder how the heck you played the games on a 24"

I've had a 27" monitor in the past and i prefer 24" for 1080p gaming :)
