Question Need help, can't update Windows ?

Hello

I am using Windows 8.1 and I don't have DirectX 11.2 so i checked for some updates and there were like 20 updates, then i went to control panel and as soon as i clicked on Windows Updates, Control Panel froze and now I can't even close it, its stuck. This happens everytime I try to update Windows. Even my friend who has windows 10 said that he can't download or install any updates.

Update: it is now working but when i click on install updates, it's still stuck ?

Do you have enough free space on your boot drive?

Kindly check your disk space left in drive and check the update logs in event viewer.

Bruh i have like 67.8 gb left for the updates and all the updates are around 1.9 gb
Whenever i try to install them via control panel,the control panel freezes like completely
Cant even close it,beeps when i try to
