So this hard drive has been running me for about 3-4 years I think and i've faced several powercuts where my computer immediately shut down probably ruining its health. Anyway, recently it's been corrupting my windows randomly. Either that or i don't even know. Yes, I'm using an anti virus software but not the best. "360 total security" suggested by Microsoft so idk. Aaanyway. it corrupted my windows 10 and I blamed windows 10. Recently, beginning September, I got a pirated windows 8.1 installed. It ran smooth as ever and then on 4th October, which was yesterday, windows got corrupted again. Or so I think. I got the whole "Preparing Automatic Repair" thing with no way out. Anyway, I'm thinking of buying a new HDD. So, please suggest me one which is cheap and efficient. I'm probably not gonna exceed the 3-4k Rupees budget right now, which is about $60, I'd say? Anyway, please do suggest one. The computer is used most for gaming so yeah. If you can, suggest one from flipkart.com or amazon.in. Cheers.
Much appreciated. :)

Hey there.

If you have any suspicions that there might be something wrong with your HDD, I'd suggest that you backup your personal data ASAP, just to be on the safe side. You've mentioned that you're not sure that the HDD is causing the issue, so I'd recommend that you download the HDD manufacturer's diagnostics tool (or a 3rd party diagnostics tool) and test the drive, to see if any errors or bad sectors pop-up.
If you are still set on getting a new HDD and you decide to go with a WD drive as @faalin has suggested, I'd recommend that you take a look at the WD Blue ( WD10EZEX ) HDD. It's a fast and reliable, 1TB, general usage HDD which comes with a 2-year limited warranty. You could take a closer look at it here: WD Blue.

Hope...
well amazon doesnt have much, but i would look at ether of these.

For storage in my computer it run 2 750gb 2.5" black drives and a 6TB red drive. The blacks ive had for 5 years without issues an the red for 2 years and it hold just over 1Tb of games :)

Gee, thanks! I'm looking at the WD10EZEX right now. Even though it's a bit out of my budget, guess I'll have to wait a while. :/
PS, @faalin, 7.5TB total? What do you even do with that haha I could never even fill a 500GB one properly. Anyway, cheers, you both. You'll be tagged if I have some enquiries. Cheers. :)

Like i said about 1.2Tb is filled with just games, my steam account has 237 games in it and grows by the day 😀 I also have a 500 disc cd wallet that is filled with older games on cd, also in the collection is around 200 dos games, 1500+ nintendo and another 1500+ super nintendo rom files to paly on and emulator. One of the 750gb drives is filled with ISO images of disc's for game installs with a notepad file with all cd keys. Then there is all the other odds and ends of pics/movies/ and what not on the other 750gb drive.

If you cant find a game to play on my computer, you are not a gamer 😛
