As the title says, I am not too familiar with the new motherboards, so not exactly sure on what I should be looking for.
The parts below are what Im getting
Gtx 980ti sc
I7 6700k
32gb Ram (ddr3/4 yet to decide depending on the mobo)
500gb ssd drive
Evga supernova 850 power supply

Any help and suggestions will be appreciated, thank you in advance :)

Since you're getting the 6700k I assume you plan to overclock so you need a Z170 board (no Z170 boards support DDR3 by the way). Which one you should get depends on your budget. There's anything from the relatively low end Z170 boards to extremely expensive high end boards (which one you get will affect how far you can overclock the 6700k as well).

Well, most expensive models have "enhacements" that most people dont actually use, like the M2 ports,w hichmay be useful in the future, but now it's not a common product. You need a Z170 one, as they are the ones that support overclocking, and you have a 6700K processor.

Sticking to this, there shouldn't be any problem; just pay atention to the max ram and max ram frecuencies. There is no "bad brand" for mobos, although I like myself Gigabyte, but that's just a personal choice :)

So basically any z170 will do? If so is there any specific ones that will be useful, as of now I dont plan on overclocking that much. Also about the gygabite mobos ive heard theyre pretty good as well

Some of them may support higher RAM frecuencies or have more overclock potential. Small differences rely on things like audio codec, ethernet port, SLI /crossfire support,M2 port, cosmethics... Little things.
