BUDGET RANGE: Under 500 (best available for fps)

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming 95%

CURRENT PC: HP Pavilion Dv7 laptop (not very high end for gaming but not too bad)

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS: as long as it fits my needs

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg.com all the way

PARTS PREFERENCES: DON'T CARE ONCE AGAIN AS LONG AS IT FITS MY NEEDS

OVERCLOCKING: Probably not SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Don't care

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920 x 1080

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Be ability to play Crysis 3/ Borderlands 2 on max settings without any lag at all

You are going to have issues since thats a laptop your trying to upgrade. I dont think you will be able to upgrade it. I do have a Alienware M17xR4 with a 675m. It plays pretty much everything on high at 50+ fps.

You can't upgrade the graphics card on most HP laptops because the Graphics card is either soldered into the board or custom designed to fit your laptop. Even if HP could do it for you they would charge you an exhorbitant amount of money. You might as well build your own Desktop or get a new gaming laptop.

The 7970 is better :). A lot of people said when I got mine that I should have gotten a GTX 680 which is very much the same and has less VRAM.
