Need help choosing between 2 builds

One is pre-made for $600 which has 8gb ram, an i5-6500 but a gtx 950. Or parts for about $600 with also 8gb ram, a gtx 1050 ti (4gb) and a Pentium g4560.

Nevertheless OP, both builds above are much better choices than those pre-built PCs. So we encourage you to build it yourself, not only you'll save your money while getting better and more reliable pieces, you will learn a lot from it as well.

Sorry for saying this after you did all that work, but I live in Australia, making all of those parts much more expensive. I'm not sure about the pre-made one, but my build has a 1 tb HDD and a 500w PSU.

Btw, this is a second-hand pre-built pc, meaning that it is probably better than the $600 cost. "payed $1500 for this pre build when i first bought it in January 2016 and considering the fact that the PC works just as good, if not better (overclocking), than it did when i first bought it means that this is a bargain." -the gumtree page in the seller's description.

that mobo is a 2 slot one with no display port. but u got HDMI. good if u r gaming @ 1080p

the PSU is a tier 3. safe to use with such low power power components. and since its not a overclockable rig, fine for now.

nothing spl abt other parts. good to go.

if buying everything new and if u have plans to upgrade to an i7 7700 and a beefire GPU, this is the setup i would recommend :

if u r just playing dota, overwatch, cs go the g4560 is a good setup to start with. if u play openworld games like bf1, witcher 3 and so on, the i5 makes sense. but u have to limit urself to low-med graphics for 45+ fps.

2) I've been changing/researching the build for a few days now and it seems that the g4560 and gtx 1050 ti were able to play games on high settings and still pretty decent fps (the Witcher 3 included)
3) my budget is pretty tight as I only have ~$700 but I still wanna buy games so keeping the price around $600 was pretty ideal. I also doubt I'lupgrade for a while as currently, I only have an i3 (not sure about the model but I think it's in the

the upgrade can be even be a year down the road. it doesnt matter. u have to have a capable PSU to power that upgrade and have a decent mobo with enough connectivity like a display port for a 144hz monitor. HDMI works but display port is the norm.

a g4560 with 1050ti in high is playable if its a 60hz monitor. will give u abt 45fps i think.

and yes, like u said, 950 with 2gb cant max out witcher 3 graphics since it requires more than 2 gb vram. but its enough for esport games like dota, overwatch, LoL., CS GO. a 1050ti is a better overall 1080p card.

1) Yes, 4GB is kind minimal nowadays for modern games, you wouldn't want to go below that if you don't wish to play on Low settings.
2) It is capable, that's because The Witcher 3 is a very GPU intensive game, therefore the G4560 don't bottleneck the 1050 Ti by much, so that rig is able to play it with the right settings.
3) If you don't plan on upgrading, the second build is best IMHO as it has decent parts ( definitely not the best, but still decent ) that will let you play probably anything on medium @1080p for a while. But as i've stated, building yourself will give a much greater edge overall.
