Hi guys,

I have a real dilemma right now,

for my future build for a while I've been planning on getting the asus maximus hero vi, but silly me overlooked the fact it doesn't have built in wifi (which is a necessity for me). After only a little bit of research I found out I have these options:

Asus Maximus Hero vi (without rog armor and wifi)

Asus Maximus Hero vi (with ROG armor and built in wifi but is 90 dollars more)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132038

or

Asus Z87 Pro (with wifi and about the same price as the original Maximus Hero vi board)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131979

Also keep in mind if I go with the original Maximus Hero vi board would have to get a wifi adapter (which is hard to find a really good reliable one that doesn't start go bad with in a couple of months). Or should I go with the z87 pro which isn't exactly a board made for exactly gaming.

I know there other options as well and if you know some please link them (preferably made by asus and is LGA 1150 socket compatible). But out of three which should I choose?

I will be gaming mostly on this computer btw, if that helps

I'd go with the Hero (tere's only one - am guessing the mobo you call the Hero with Armor and Wifi is actually the Maximus VI Formula (about $100 more)...the Pro is a good mobo also, but the Hero OCs better, handles DRAM better, runs cooler and has better sound (among other things), I built with both before picking the Hero for my own build, and already have a Hero VII on the way for a Z97 build - Hero is a great mobo, my fav of all the Z87s, and I've done builds on most all the better ones from the Big 3

Ok thanks for the advice, will get the hero ^ ^

I'm just afraid of getting a wifi adapter now. Everything I've read about wifi adapter are really really bad so it's going to be really hard find a good or at least decent one that will actually work and last for a long period of time. 🙁

EDIT: Btw, does Maximus formula have the same benefits you listed as the Hero or is it not as good at OCing?

I've got a variety I've had for awhile, the Encore, USB dual ENUWI-2XN42, the EDI MAX EW-7722UTn, Rosewill RNX-N180UBE (nice, comes with a base and a USB cable so can be set up in a variety of nearby spots, and the ASsus N13 (keep a half dozen for classes in case need to set up desktops someplace with no hardwaire

Ok cool, I'll check those out, thanks for the help ^ ^
