Hi,
I need help choosing parts for my brothers build. He really wants to play his games on ultra settings, but he is currently playing them on low-medium.
The games he plays:
Minecraft
Rust
Cube world
Bully: Scholarship Edition
Turbo dismount
FarSky
7 Days to die
Every single star wars game known to steam

He also records via fraps in the background. He needs an OS(windows 8.1), no peripherals needed. He uses a 24" 1080p monitor.

There are some games he would also like to start playing that he currently cant, such as Far Cry 4 and GTA V when it comes out.

Budget wise, £950 maximum

Solution
far cry 4 is one of the most demanding todays game ...so at ultra setting ??

Solution

+1; FarCry 4 is definitely the most demanding game and this build would run it.

Screw the i7, get an i5 4690k and a 120gb SSD boot drive instead. i7s barely increase game performance, and unless your brother is going to be bitcoin mining or doing photo editing or hardcore multitasking, he's better off with a faster boot. Plus, with 80ish gigs of extra space on the drive, he can put a few of his most played games on it, which'll load very quickly.
