need help choosing psu

im going to order the following Components:

MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming 4GB

Intel Core i-6600K Skylake

MSI Z97 GAMING 5, Socket-1150

Corsair H80i GT hydro Series CPU Cooler

but i dont know how much watt i need in the PSU.

Am guessing thats an I5-6600K since could not find a I7 at that version
At a rough guess, considering your MSI requires 145W and your I5 requires 91W.
I would look at either the EVGA Supernova here which is fully modular or possibly a higher EVGA 750W if you want to make sure all future potential upgrades are covered. Assumption offcourse that your budget coveres this.

I have the 650W one and love it as the fan does not come on until the PSU hits a 25% load under Eco mode, which means its really silent.

Keep us update on what you decide to do or post a picture of your build once its all done

Processor and motherboard are incompatible. You need a socket 1151 board for that 6600k Skylake CPU. A good quality 550 watt power supply from tier 1 or 2 from this list will be more than adequate. http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

You need a Z170 1151 motherboard
Not Z97 1150

And a 550w Psu from Evga, 650 if you plan to upgrade again. Recommend the Evga g2

I was thinking of getting the i7-4790k instead and corsair cx 750 psu

If you are starting fresh don't get the 4790k, you should start with the newest gen of cpu's
I5 is all that is needed for gaming
Don't get the cx750 it's very very low quality

No, the i5 6600k was the correct choice, with a z170 motherboard and ddr4 ram

Would recommend and Evga g2 Psu, you will need at least 550w
