Need help. Computer doesn't turn on

Hi guys

Building my own computer and tested the motherboard by shorting the on switch with the CPU and RAM installed. The speaker beeped and all the fans moved.

After installing the motherboard into the case nothing now happens. The PSU works fine when I do the paperclip test and the motherboard lights up when connected but no fans turn on and no beep is heard from the speaker

My build is:
i5 3570
Asus p8H77
Corsair 500w psu

Hi, make sure the motherboard is properly installed, in that the standoffs in the case aligns with the holes on the motherboard, the screws should be screwed in only finger tight, DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN, and not shorting against the metal of the case, test again outside the case and see if it works.

Tried that and I get absolutely nothing. No beep at all from the speaker. Also removed the RAM and that solved nothing, the PSU also doesnt seem to work when connected the motherboard, however it works fine when I did the paper clip test

Which of the components do you think I should replace? I cant find any solution to this problem

I dont really have access to another PSU, it works fine when connected to fans/optical drives using a paper clip but as soon I plug it into the mobo nothing happens.

I cant get hold of other RAM, ive tried it without any RAM and still get no response. Not a single beep comes from the motherboard at all. Do you think its the CPU or motherboard?
