Have mediacom cable inpternet. Using a ARRIS Surfboard cable modem SB6183
Need help configuring Apple Airport Gen5 ROUTER to work with a Simplisafe doorbell - it will only talk to 2.4 Ghz
Have tried several different resets for the Router configuration ie n and a,b but doorbell not talking to the network.
Anyone familiar with this? Else will need to get newer router that will work with 2.4 GHZ
Thanks very much
Else suggestions for new router appreciated. All items except a couple of ipads and iphones are directly connected to the router via cable.

Start by setting the SSID on the 2.4 and 5Ghz bands to different values. Then manually set the 2.4Ghz radio to channel 1, 6 or 11. Set the channel width to 20Mhz. Set a simple password abcdef123456 using WPA2 AES encryption. That is the most vanilla config possible
I don't see anything in a google search that says other people are having problems.
