I have an old chromebook (HP 14-q029wm) that came with Tmobile's "free 200mb/month of data for as long as you own the device". The chromebook is not working very well anymore but I would like to keep the 200mb of free data. As far as I understand, the "device" is just the IMEI which is embedded in the WWAN card. So I removed the WWAN card and the SIM card from the chromebook and am hoping to convert them into an "external" USB device that I can use on any computer. I am tech savvy but know almost nothing about configuring electronic components like these so I'm hoping someone can help me.

WWAN card model: Huwawei mu736
mu736 hardware guide: http://download-c.huawei.com/download/downloadCenter?downloadId=18428

I found this device that looks promising: https://www.newegg.com/tekit-ntrang...rd-slot-module-testing-tools/p/1BK-0030-00084
Will a device like this work?
Is it basically plug and play once I install the drivers?
Will I need to reattach the antenna to the WWAN card?

Sorry if this all seems vague and confusing. The problem is I don't know what I don't know. Hopefully I can work through this with someone and create a sort of guide for anyone else needing help with a project like this. Thanks in advance!

"Anybody who wants to use a tablet "

"As far as I understand, the "device" is just the IMEI which is embedded in the WWAN card. "
which is incorrect. the device is the tablet
"USB device that I can use on any computer. "

forum rule does not allow hacking

And I will get another downvote for this
