Need help deciding between R9 280 or a R9 285 for a 600$ budget

This is my first time building a PC and I have been referred to all the other parts besides a GPU I need help deciding between a R9 280 which I have in the list currently but Ive been doing research and I think the R9 285 is better. Any opinions?

to some the 280 will be better due to having 3GB of memory. and for games like BF4 the more VRAM you have the better it will be if you intend to run the game using Mantle API. in anandtech review they mention the 2GB VRAM on 285 is one of the possible cause that the performance is worse than 280

the only advantage of 285 was the card is based on the latest GCN iteration (GCN 1.2). and if you follow AMD for a bit you know that many new feature won't be coming to older generation GCN (1.0).
