So my current setup is a really outdated one, it's not a massive upgrade but i'm thinking if it's worth it with the price value aswell. Mainly for CSGO, and "maybe" some other pre 2016 - 2017 games in the future.

My current;
Intel i3 3220T 2.80GHz 2.80GHz
4GB Ram
Nvidia GT710
500GB HDD

Option 1;
Intel® i5 3470
HP H-Joshua-H61-uATX
8GB RAM DDR3
ASUS GTX 1060 3GB
HDD

$320

Option 2;
i5-2500k 3.7GHz
MSI-H61M E33
DDR3 Kingston KVR16N11S8/4 4GB*2 1600MHz
SSD + HDD
No GPU so i'll have to put my GT710

$192

Option 3;
Intel® Xeon® Processor X5550
Nvidia Geforce GTX950 2GB GDDR5
8GB RAM
SSD

$192

Thanks!

What is your max budget? Maybe you can find a 3rd gen i7 for cheap, add more memory in and get a better GPU for your system and have a better system then those options.

I7-3770 for under $90.

8gb DDR3 1600.

GT 1030 2gb. May be able to get something better depending on the PSU but even this GPU is a good upgrade from your GT 710.

Video Card: EVGA - GeForce GT 1030 2 GB LP Video Card ($89.89 @ OutletPC)
Total: $89.89

Total: $215.

If you can spend more I'd probably use the remaining budget for a decent 240gb SSD.

Most likely the $320. How are the rigs for their prices btw? I'm not really gonna play any graphics or CPU extensive game besides CS;GO at the moment and some random old games few years back. Or are the options not too big of a jump from my current?

I don't think there really worth it for the cost as it's kind of a sidegrade then upgrade, better off upgrading yours. I edited my post and gave some options above.

Option 1 : CPU would make big Bottleneck with GPU but CPU upgrade could fix it easily

Option 2 : If you would get that configuration , I would immediatly sell SSD and GT 710 and get some GPU (GTX 1050 ti,GTX 1060 or something else) and later buy an SSD

Option 3 : Quite outdated CPU but it well run great with that GPU but I would still get Option 1 or 2 because they are newer and they can be upgraded wery easily.

Are these compatible upgrades to my current? I'm have a Gigabyte H61M-DS2

Edit: Dunno if it's a weird question but i'm not familiar with these stuff at all. Been sticking with a low low low end setup for the past few years, and apparently my current, i've overpayed someone alot to build it.

I thought they were really good prices. Nevermind. Glad I asked around. Will probably build in the near future instead of getting one now after a few more research. Thank you!

I dont say that they are bad prices especially if your on budget but still I wanted to point out some opinions for those builds .

As long as the BIOS has been upgraded to F4 then the CPU will work. The memory should work but since the board supports a max of 1333mhz then either the kit would be downclocked automatically to fit those specs or just get a 1333 kit and the GT 1030 should work fine with that motherboard.

ELI5, does that mean it's best if I get a completely new setup? I heard CSGO is a CPU oriented game so the graphics card doesn't matter as much as CPU does.

Also, i'm curious how does Option 2 + upgrades sound like? Or still better to build from scratch.
