Hello everyone,

I am in the market for a new monitor. I am currently looking at buying the Acer XF270H (144hz, 27 Inch, 1080p). I am a little concerned though, is 27 inches too big to stretch out that 1080p? Obviously I am looking for a gaming monitor, and maybe it'd be wise if I just spend the extra couple hundred bought a 1440p monitor? Maybe the folks who have or are currently using a 27 inch 1080p monitors could enlighten me! I would appreciate any sort of feedback.

Thanks!

Hey, I bought recently the Acer XF270HUA 1440p 144hz and absolutely love it. Worth every penny! I think yes you should go for 1440p. What do you look when you are on computer? The monitor right, so its a good investment! I was like, why i haven't bought this earlier ?!

I have a 34" 2560x1080P monitor which has a PPI of 81. A 27" 1080P monitor has identical PPI. I sit a little over a arms length away. Gaming wise the picture looks great. Looking at the forums at that distance the text is clear but others have stated that it can be slightly blurry but it's still readable.

That being said it's going to come down to your budget and current hardware. If you want 144hz and your hardware can push those FPS at 1440P then I'd get the 1440P over the 1080P.

Hey,

It depends on your preference, money wasn't an issue for me and I still preferred the 1080p 144hz.
I have the BenQ 2720z 144hz 1080p for more then 2 years and I cant be more happy about my decision to go for 1080p rather than 1440p.
although I do various things on my computer my main thing is gaming.
I sit very close to the screen and its very sharp.
movies/netflix I see on my 4k tv that is connected to my computer.
If you were to say that you are going to do video editing or watch movies on that screen then I would have recommended you to go for higher resolution and an IPS panel.
