Need help deciding what to upgrade (FX8350, 780ti)

My rig has an 8350 overclocked to 4.7
a 780ti with a slight overclock
16 gb ddr3
and a crosshair-V asus mobo

I'm not really seeing the kind of performance I'd like on games like GTA 5 and arma 3. I'm looking for guidance on what I should upgrade next and it would be an added bonus to know roughly what I could get for the used components I would be replacing. Thanks!

you will need to replace everything....no real upgrade path for you with anything there. you can keep your case and your power supply if good enough for new build....

for a new cpu you will need a new motherboard and ram(ddr4) and upgrading the graphics card wont help you to much with the 8350 though it will give you some gains........fyi i type this on my 8350 overclocked to 4.7ghz also just so you know im telling you theres no point in really upgrading till you can replace all.

I've got a rare and a lot faster cpu than your 8350 which is the i5 3570K(check out this benchmarking page: http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-3570K-vs-AMD-FX-8350/1316vs1489),
but like I said it's quite old now(2012) so it's got a dated 1155 socket. It's worth the extra speed though if you're willing - and able - to get one.

I'd start with the cpu ,motherboard and ram(newer platforms use ddr4).

I agree with the others that you need to upgrade the CPU first. The 780ti is still "ok".

The best gaming performance is from coffeelake CPUs. Since you like to overclock, I suggest the i5-8600k.

Because you need new ram, etc to go with it... this won't be cheap.

I say ditch the cpu,mobo,gpu and ram like everybody else is saying if you are going to upgrade do it to all of the the stuff

i would consider upgrading to ryzen 3 or 5 mainly 5 more balanced for the price and get a gigabyte as350m gaming 3 with ryzen cheap board but no loss performance also get g.skill aegis 3000+ great combo with the ryzen chip this shouldn't cost you more than around 300$.

also for a little better performance get a gtx 1050ti great for the price and can run most games you would ever want.
