I need to get a new motherboard as I pretty much have ruled out all other causes of BSOD. I'm not sure if you buy the processor as part of the motherboard, etc, but I would like a slightly more powerful processor so that my son can play the more happening vid games.

Note: Please be sure to suggest only MB that will fit my particular case.

Here are my computer specs via speccy: http://speccy.piriform.com/results/z5r1T1oWxmUrQ4uokAPEUWh

Thank you for any and all insights!
FYI my graphics card is a geforce gtx 750ti

Look like you have the Dell PC, Dell Inspiron 545MT. And I add other picture for the back of the PC, http://cnet3.cbsistatic.com/hub/i/r/2010/08/03/276aaf8a-67c4-11e3-a665-14feb5ca9861/thumbnail/770x433/7a5bec0041a9f32a937a1d72e07ffd99/33703128-2-1333-BK-3.jpg

So if you do have the Dell 545MT, and you do need a new MB, then I have to tell you that you are better to forget about it.
1) The I/O panel on the case can not be removed, so you can't put other brand MB on it, so you may have to buy the same MB from dell or from ebay/amazon. 2) Also if you buy other brand lga775 MB ( or + new case ). Then you will need the new OS too. I add the link you can see there are not much choice you have...

A couple points to consider;

If you have an OEM license version of Win7, changing the MB will void the license. MS will require you to re-activate the OS before obtaining anymore updates. And you will only have 30 days to do so before it becomes partially disabled. You can try to re-activate but you will have about a 50-50 chance of MS catching the fact that you now have a "new computer". If so, you will be directed to a toll free number to call an automated service to answer a few questions. One of which will be is how many computers is this copy installed on? If you answer 1, you will have another 50-50 chance of it passing. If it fails you will be directed to a rep to explain why you want to use the OEM license on a "different machine". (the MB determines if it is the same machine or not)

2nd point; replacing the MB will require you to re-install Win7 anew. This is because the original installation set itself up with the components it recognized on the old MB. The new MB will be totally different and will probably confuse the OS to the point that it may not boot. And if it does, the Registry will be a total mess. You will have to re-install drivers from the new MB and then run something like CCleaner to try to clean up the old Registry of errors.

Your BSOD problems may be caused by something other than the MB itself. A bad stick of RAM can cause that. So can a bad/failing PSU. Driver corruption is another likely cause. Especially if you have installed the new driver before uninstalling the old driver.

So if you want only recommend the MB you need go to Dell, ebay or amazon to get the same model MB.
