HELP!!

I'm trying to downgrade Directx12 to Directx11 on Win10.

The only way I've been able to even find the Directx11 download is through a Windows Vista .msu Service Pack. I figured I could just run it in compatibility mode, but no dice. You can only run .exe & .msi files in compatibility mode.

Being the knucklehead that I am, I've already deleted the regeedit files for Directx12, (minus Default Reg_SZ). *Without setting a system restore point* derp.

Does anyone know how I can download the vista .msu for Directx11 on a windows 10 operating system? .. or any other way to downgrade?

If it's supported, how come I'm having such a hard time getting it?

every version of dx is a stand alone from the others. normally you have multiple versions installed depending on the games you play. i have 9, 10, 11 and 12 installed as various games i play uses different versions. there is no "downgrading" as every version needed gets installed. dx12 is part of win 10 and can't be deleted as far as i know. if a game does not use it, then it simply does not get loaded. there is something else going on if your gameplay is effected.

My GPU doesn't support it. I can only support up to 11, and since I've been using Win10 my FPS has been absurdly low in games. I figured it must be DirectX.

Just like greens said, since you have dx12 you also have dx11, most games still only support dx11 so you should be fine. but for getting lower fps on Windows 10 could be something else. make sure all your driver's are up to date and your hardware at least meets the minimum requirements for your games

So there's no way to downgrade to dx11 so that I'm positive that I'm only using dx11 or earlier versions? .. my GPU specifically states that it only supports up to 11. All my drivers are up to date and my hardware is above minimum requirements.

I have no use for dx12 on this system.. is it somehow possible to downgrade or no?
