NEED HELP! Ethernet slower than Wireless.. Now my wireless is super slow!

I wanted to see if using my Ethernet cable (using a powerplug converter) would increase my internet speed.
I currently have BT fibre optic and was reaching 30Mb on download 9Mb upload and 32 ping.
However when I put my Ethernet on my download went down to 5Mb and upload at 2Mb even though my ping decreased to 15.

I thought this is fine- I'll just use my wireless for everything, but now my wireless has dropper to 4MB download 0.4MB Upload and ping the same at 32.

I've tried everything I can think of - removing Ethernet cable, reloading the router, resetting the wireless connection. Unplugging the power adaptor and troubleshooting and still nothing! If anyone has any clue on how to get it working to it's optimum ability I would be incredibly grateful!

Was the powerplug converter plugged directly into the wall outlet (no surge protector, no power splitter, no ups, etc)?

The 1st generation of powerplug adapters where not that good, but the newest models of them have gotten a lot of the bugs worked out.
Now if you have an old home with old wiring or you have electrical motors and/or florescent fixtures on that leg of power line then that could cause enough interference to degrade the signal.

Make sure you're connected to your home network. Just for starters, right click the Network icon in the System tray and click on Troubleshoot. Unplug your cable modem for at least 30 seconds then plug it in again.

Question 1 - Are you using the same tool for all these performance tests? Specifically, speedtest.net.

It's the newest Generation of plug to ethernet adaptor I believe. Although the problems not that the Ethernet is slower but that, I now have slower internet on my wireless.
I have done all that TheTemest, My internet came back to around 80% efficiency around 2am but it's down on this pc again, where as my other pc is fine :/

Yes I use Speedtest.net for all my tests
