I've just finished finding parts to build a new pc:

CPU: Intel i5-6600k
CPU Cooler: Corsair H110i GT
Motherboard: Asus Maximus VIII Ranger
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR4-2133
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB
HDD: WD Blue 1TB
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 970 Gaming G1
Case: Corsair 750D Airflow Edition
PSU: Corsair CSM 650W 80+ Gold
ODD: Samsung SH-224DB
OS: Windows 10
Monitor: LG 24GM77
Keyboard: Corsair K70 RGB
Mouse: Turtle Beach Grip 300

Will this system work or are there flaws/incompatibilities, or are there better parts for the same price or cheaper? I plan to use it mainly for gaming.

Thanks!

No that psu is not very good. I recommend any Seasonic, XFX, Antec, Super Flower, Rosewill Capstone, or EVGA's B2, G2, or GS series.

Thanks for the advice, what motherboard, psu and cooler would you recommend, assuming that I want to buy the i5-6600k? I was going to go for the R9 390, but according to this review it's really inefficient, and I did some research and found out that the gtx 970 has better overclocking potential.

The 970 and 390 are very similar in performance overall with the 390 being a little better. The 970 is the better overclocker, but the 390 can overclock too.

I'm just not one of those people who agree with getting a $250+ i5 with a $100+ cooler and a $300+ motherboard when I know I can get a $230 i5 with a $30 cooler on a $120 motherboard that will give you about 97% of that performance. And honestly, if it was my money, I'd get a $180 i5 and a $70 motherboard and get a better gpu for the same bottom line price.

Thanks again, I've taken your advice and changed the parts I'm going to use a bit: GPU: Sapphire Nitro R9 390 Motherboard: Asus Z170 Pro Gaming Cooler: Corsair H105 PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 80+ Gold 750W The rest is the same as before. The reason I've chosen with the i5-6600K is that it's the cheapest overclockable Skylake CPU. My only question now is if the PSU chosen is good enough for this build.
