Need help finding a nice and affordable motherboard (1150 / 1151 socket)

I was planning to buy a new processor and replace my i3 2130 when the question arose whether the new processors I am considering would fit into my motherboard. Turns out it doesn't (current socket is 1155). It also turns out that that socket isn't very lucrative in processor variety. The processors I am considering are

i5 6600 / 6600k with sockets of 1151
i5 4690 / 4690k with sockets of 1150
i5 4590 / 4590k with sockets of 1150

With two socket types in mind it's hard to narrow down my choices for a motherboard right for me. I currently have a GTX 960. The questions I mainly have are:

1. Which processor should I go for and
2. Which motherboard should I get to fit with it?

I'd like to keep the budget around $100 for a new motherboard, worst case scenario $150.

To be honest 6600/6600k is the best if you ask me.
It is the newest, also the socket will be compatible with the upcoming Kaby lake and the next -lake generation.
About motherboard, what do you want ATX or Micro ATX or ?

Go for the latest platform, i5 6600 and an 1151 socket. Don't get a Z mobo and there will be a few options for you within your budget.
