Hello All,
I am new to this. I have read FAQs and can't seem to figure this out. I can see where I can increase bus speed. Found where I can increase voltage. Can't find anything for the multiplier. Where can I find the section in the BIOS that will allow me to adjust the multiplier. CPUZ si telling me that it is currently set at 5.5. My system specs are as follows:

Vista premium 64
AMD Phenom Quad Core 9550 2.2 GHz
Asus m3a78-emh hdmi mATX motherboard
8gb DDR2 800Mhz PC6400 - 2GB x 4
2 x WD 640 caviar black hd raid 0
Sata 20x DVD
Fantom 1TB eSata external HD through jmicron esata - raid adaptor back up

I am just playing with OC for moderate gain in speed. Looking for better performance without have to spend too much on additional hardware. ie; cooling system, new faster ram, etc.

Advanced tab then go go to the jumper free configuration option then on to AMD Overclocking Configuration, there you go 😀

this should help:

Also you might want to update you're bios, go to ASUS website and download the bios iso and put it on a cd with a program such as CDBurnerXP and then boot up the computer with the cd in there and go into the bios, then use the "ASUS EZ Flash utility" and after you do that you're updated. but dont forget to save you're bios settings

On my ASUS board it is under the heading "Processor Frequency Multiplier"

You may not want up-date the BIOS unless you are having issues. Once up-dated you may not be able to roll-back to previous BIOS if you don't like the performance or have other issues.

Not sure why he need to update his BIOS. He did not state he was having any problems that would require an update.
Your BIOS is one of those things, "If it is not broken, don't try to fix it".

Thorox - When I get to the Overclocking section of the bios, there is no multiplier section. When I take it off of Auto, my only option is to adjust the speed.

Would an updated bios add the option to increase the multiplier? Is there anyplace that I can go to see what features are offered in a certain bios version?

BTW I discovered via CPUZ that the multiplier is at 5.5 when sitting idle and increases to 11.0 when the system is running prime95.

I don't think you can change the multiplier on that board but you can change the BLCK Frequency and Vcore, also the Ram speed/ timings
