I think I answered you last post about if you would get banned from Xbox live if your 360 optical disk drive was not connected to the xbox at the time of signing in to xbox live.
Shammikit, you can buy a new optical drive for an xbox 360 console.
You have to make sure that the new drive you buy is the same brand as the original one found in the xbox 360 toshiba/ samsung ms 28 model of optical drive.
Once you have the new drive you have to clone all of the information of the old drive you have and flash the bios firmware of the old drive over to the newly bought drive, the drive key.
With Xbox 360`s the console and the optical drive placed in them are paired together by a serial number programmed into the bios firmware of the main console motherboard, and the optical drive of the system.
The reason why you get banned from Xbox live is because Xbox live checks for both of these serial numbers when you connect to the service to make sure they match up together.
If xbox live sees a different Xbox main board serial number, where the serial number of the optical drive does not match it again it will ban you from ever using the console online through Xbox live.
Just like if you connected the Xbox 360 console to Xbox live but removed the optical drive before connecting to the online service it will ban the xbox 360 for ever from using the online service.

The process is pretty simple, all you need is the original optical drive, a newly bought optical drive.
A pc with a motherboard where you can connect Sata based devices to it.
The how to is bellow.

Your other option is to re-calibrate the laser of the old dvd drive,
You can find this out on how to do it by a simple google search.
You will need a digital multi meter, and a fine small tipped cross head screwdriver.
And have to open the casing of the optical xbox dvd drive.
Again instructions on how to do this can be found on google, done right it will allow game disks to be read correctly instead of the xbox 360 failing to read the disk.
But the better choice is buy a replacement drive TBH.
