Need help flashing my backup bios on my gigabyte rx 460 2gb

So I did something kind of dumb. I flashed the bios from this website http://overclocking.guide/amd-radeon-rx-460-unlocking-1024-stream-processors/
the first download near the bottom of the page. I wanted to unlock the card so I could overclock it after getting a disappointing 17 fps in overwatch. There was no download for my card specifically and I ended up taking the first download to see if it would work. It didnt, when i tried to reinstall the drivers, device manager had this message in the properties of my graphics card driver: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

The program included in the download made a backup of my card before i flashed it, Rx460.backup. I would like to know how to restore it.

AMD A4-7300 APU
12 gb RAM
and the graphics card.

I can't help you with how to restore it but I can help you with this general advice for future experiments like this: research every aspect of the process, including how to reverse it, before you start.

To give an example of how little research you did, your CPU is actually an APU. It is not meant for gaming. It's meant for people who want an inexpensive computer and so it's a CPU/GPU all in one. That's a big reason why the 460, a videocard made for games like Overwatch, was not handling the game well. Even if you unlocked the cores it wasn't going to help.

I see we're in the same boat huh.. Is your's a Sapphire dual fan as well? (That's mine) If I get an answer on my thread (http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-3346046/bricked-460-stupid.html) I'll make sure to tell you. Best of luck my friend.

AMD have blocked BIOS mods in their recent drivers. Try the drivers from December 2016, I think they were the last drivers that worked.

If you want to go back to the old BIOS it's really easy to do. Open up a command prompt (or powershell) as administrator. Go to the directory where you unzipped the modified BIOS. There should be a file called Rx460.backup. Type the following command to flash the backup ROM -

AtiFlash -p 0 -f Rx460.backup

Once it has finished reset the PC and all shouldbe good.

I have a big problem. I flashed that bios on the msi variant of the card and it didnt work... And now i can only use my pc for like 2 minutes before it goes white screen.

I found out that the crashing occured when msi afterburner started right after my system booted in windows. Btw i managed to flash the original bios and now im dandy so...if anyone has my problem just so you know it might be an overclocking tool. Cheers!

Hi.
Rename the backup file (RX460.backup) to the filename that ends with a .t1 extension (ASUSRX460Dual-O2G.t1 in my case).
Run "flash unlocked bios" and restart.

Just restored mine to sell and worked perfectly. Use GPUz to make sure it worked.

I took mine to the store a week ago and they gave me a replacement today for free. Pretty sure I wasn't supposed to, though. Maybe try that? Avoid telling them exactly HOW it broke though. (whoops, just noticed OP already fixed it)
