Hello,

Its time for me to upgrade and I live in Canada. I have a $1000 CAD dollar limit to spend. I also have an corsair H60 cooling unit I would like to use.

The primary function for this pc will be to game higher end games on moderate settings.
Could somebody let me know the best compenents I'd need to buy within my price range in order to build my new pc?

Thanks

Here is a build under your budget:
CPU-Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
RAM-G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)
GPU-Gigabyte Radeon R9 280 3GB
Motherboard-Gigabyte GA-H97-D3H
Storage-Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB
Case-Antec Three Hundred Two
DVD Drive- Black SATA 24X DVD Burner
PSU-SeaSonic S12II 620W

Heh, PokerTroller beat me to it and I expect his build is much better, but since I worked on this a while I'll offer it anyway, just in case it gives you some useful ideas. It's always good to have some alternatives, right?

Also, you didn't mention whether your budget includes an OS. My build doesn't take that into account, but with a bit more fiddling you could whittle it down--I just ran out of time. You can get Windows 7 Pro SP1 System Builder Edition at Amazon fairly cheap, and upgrade for free to Windows 10 through July if you so desire:

But if you go that route, you do have to be careful which seller you order it from (check their ratings) and make sure it's fulfilled by Amazon.

Good luck, hope your rig turns out great!

Thanks for your responses.

The $1000 dollar CAD budget will include the OS.

Also I have a Samsung SyncMaster 2253 LW which is like six or seven years old. Would I need to upgrade this as well and could you reccomend a good moniter within the $200 CAD range if needed?

Thanks
