So recently my HyperX Cloud Headset died and i am since looking for a replacement. I am set for the headphones as i still have my ATH-M40x that i bought previously. I was wondering if it is smarter to just buy a proper microphone (something like a Blue Snowball or Auna MIC-900B) or a new headset. I would be using it for mainly skype teamspeak etc. but im also getting into voiceovers. Budget is around (+-20) 100 Euros.

Edit: If i were to get a microphone an arm, shock-mount and pop filter would be good.

Thanks in advance

for on the cheap... neewer microphones arent bad. they lack bass but are dirt cheap yet dont sound half bad at all. theres a nice podcastage neewer microphone review on youtube (he records his whole video with the mic he reviews).

the blue snowball isnt a bad mic but you will not get a shock mount for it cheap and its a little on the large side. the best bet for that is to not use a shock mount and just not bang the table. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TG0j7hpUp44 or comparision of different nw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4G24U5fTZ4

while you might have to stretch your budget just a bit to get a proper shock mount and stand.. the audiotechncia atr2500 is a great little mic. its the at2020's little brother and while it may lack...

at minimum i would suggest a boom arm and pop filter. a shock mount would be nice as well if it comes in the kit.

most of the proffessional youtubers do not use usb mics and instead use xlr along with audio interfaces. this lets you have more control over the microphone / headphone volume and mix in aux sources. this would push you over budget unless you started small so unless you think you will get big into it i'd just get a simple mic or usb mic.

MERGED QUESTION
Question from Dat_Lars : "Looking for a new Microphone"

Hi folks,
I am currently looking for a new microphone as my headset died on me last week. I still have a spare pair of ath-m40x lying around so the only thing i need is a good mic setup. My budget is around 150 dollars and it should include : the microphone, shock mount, boom arm and popfilter. (maybe an audio interface if needed). I looked into the auna mic-900b or the blue snowball.
The mic will be needed for calls and some voice recording in the future.
Can anyone give me some recommendations?

Kind regards
