Hi fellow Tom's,

I'm looking to upgrade my current PC build with a new M.2 NVMe SSD disk, but since this part of the storage world is new to me, I have a few questions that you may be able to help me answer.
I mainly use my PC for gaming and therefore I'm looking for a drive suitable for gaming.

My current build is: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Vtkdcc
I will likely get rid of my old Barracuda drive but keep my Kingston as secondary storage drive.

Q1: Which M.2 NVMe drive do you recommend (my budget is max 240$ / 200€)? Currently looking at Western Digital SN750 1TB, Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1TB and ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB.

Q2: Will my current build (MOBO) support NVMe (for maximum speed?)

Others: Any other things I should be aware of?

Thank you so much!
Kind regards,
Henrik

Solution
https://www.asus.com/au/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-Z270H-GAMING/ says Dual M.2
and

• 1 x M.2 Key M Socket supports type 2280/2260/2242 storage devices in PCIE Gen3 x4 mode on the back side
• supports PCIe 3.0x4 standard, 4.2cm/6cm/8cm length M.2 PCIe-interface SSD cards

Last NVMe I got was an AData 8200 1 TB. It's fine. I also have a Sanmsug 960 (250gb) which is OK too.

You will need to clone your OS drive (Barracuda). To do this you need to remove as much from it as you can so you can have a small nvme drive to replace it. AData want you to use Acronis - which worked OK. But Samsung have Migration Software which was easier to use.
