Need Help For Upgrade!!

I have a Cybertron with the following specs:
Intel Core i5-7500
GTX 1050 2GB
16GB DDR4 Ram
1TB HDD

I am just unsure on what would be best to upgrade next, and what parts would fit.

For general use, you will get the most gain by adding an SSD to place the operating system and programs. If you can, buy a 500GB SSD, or if your budget is tight, buy a 250GB SSD.

Your PC is somewhat unbalanced and your GPU is somewhat insufficient for your CPU. You can get better in games if you substitute your GPU for a GTX 1050 TI or better a GTX 1060 3G/6G. Beyond this point your CPU would be insufficient so I would not recommend a GTX 1070. If you prefer AMD can reach the RX 570 or RX 580 (not beyond).

Yes, I do plan on adding a SSD.
So would I be able to just swap out the GTX 1050 for the 1060 with no problems? Also, if i wanted to go with a 1070 what would you recommend I upgrade my CPU to?

Before upgrading anything on that system, I would take a look at the PSU. They have mentioned nothing about the make of the PSU and its very hard to make out what PSU it is with only one picture. Would you mind checking it and posting what make it is on here? Its seems like a low quality unit and should be first priority in upgrades.

As for the GPU, you can go up to a GTX 1070 no problem. It will bottleneck in only some CPU intensive games on 1080p. I also need to know what res and refresh rate you are playing on. For 1080p @ 60Hz, anything above a 1060 6GB will be just wasting your money. For 1080p 144Hz, a 1070 is good. 1440p 60Hz, 1070 is still good. At higher refresh rates on 1440p you need more GPU power so then you would want a 1070Ti. You will be fine with a GTX 1070 and that CPU. don't worry. Also, the higher the resolution, more is the load on the GPU. So if you go 1440p, it might eliminate some possible bottlenecks with a 1070 and i5 7500 which would occur at 1080p but then i doubt there would be any bottlenecks to begin with.

Also, as mentioned above, get an SSD. It enhances the OS performance alot.

I believe the PSU is a 500 Watt supply that is from cybertron. Also I play on 1080 @ 60HZ, so I will go with the 1060 6GB. Do you have any suggestions on what PSU would be a good fit?

Well, what is your budget for the PSU? For a cheap PSU i would recommend the Corsair CX550M

If you can spend a little more, then I would recommend the EVGA SuperNOVA G2.

Yes, 650W is a bit overkill for your system but the SuperNOVA G2 650W costs almost exactly as much as the SuperNOVA G3 550W right now because of the $20 rebate. Why not get a extra 150Watts if its for free. The G3 also has mixed reviews. People are complaining about the Fan noise and some protections on the PSU. The G2 is a steal for this price.
