Hello,
I'm current planning out a gaming computer that I am going to build and I wanted your opinions about my part selection:

Intel Core i5-3570 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
EVGA GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost 2GB Video Card
NZXT LEXA S (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case
Xion 700W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
Microsoft Windows 8 (OEM) (64-bit)

Any tips for improvement would be helpful, and I am also trying to keep it around $1000 dollars. (I'd prefer it to be a bit lower)

You dont' need a huge 700W power supply for gtx 650ti

Anyways since this is a gaming rig, I would cut some cash down on the gaming aesthetics and get a minimum

Gtx 660ti or ATI radeon 7870.

It's critical if you want to play games at 1080p in the coming next year or so.

Unless you wish to change your graphic card again.

Remember, in a gaming build, more than aesthetics, its the GPU that matters the most.

What good does a good looking system do with all the goodies, if games lag on it while going Ultra or High settings?

So would a 500 watt power supply be better? And I'm using PcPartPicker.com for my parts, and I couldn't find and ATI Radeon 7870 but I did find MSI, Asus, Powercolor, etc Radeon 7870's. Is there a difference? Thank you.

I'd go for something in 550 to 600W.

Anyways, yes go for the 7870 any of them whichever you can find cheaper would be okay. Asus are usually the most expensive ones.

You could go for the 660ti too if you like Nvidia.

Anyways, get a good graphic card, so at least you can keep playing games for next one year or so without having lagging and problems.

Rest of your system seems okay.

I would recommend Corsair GS600 as PSU if you find that cheap, but upto you.

P.S just noticed something. Why are you going for custom cooler on a rig that is not going to be overclocked ?

Overkill.

The stock cooler would be fine. No need to spend extra on that even, and go for something like r9 280x if you can by cutting the custom cooler.

Thank you very much, I'll go revise my build now.
