need help guys gotta ram issue !

hey guys just built a new rig everything went smoothly no problems, gotta asus sabertooth z97 mobo and 2 x 4gb corsair 1600 ram, in the bios its showing both sticks as working but only using 2gb of each, and its running at 1333. is there somthing im missing here guys? Like i said build went smoothly no hiccups until now got 7/64bit. using onboard graphics at mo as waiting for a few extra pennies for the gtx 980 ti. i7 4790k
1000w cm psu
100i gtx cooler
san disk ssd
vortex ssd
its prob summut stupid i dunno but if anyone can help would be much appreciated thanks

Have you enabled XMP in the BIOS to see if it'll fix it? Also, are you ram sticks in the same colored slots?

The motherboard manual will tell you which slots to use with different configurations for maximum speed.

On-board graphics shouldn't affect the amount of RAM your system recognizes. I would recommend running the Memtest.

If all else fails, update to the newest chipset driver for your motherboard and update the BIOS as well. The latter is risky if you do it wrong though, so don't rush it.
