NEED HELP GUYS PLEASE <3 HELP :( / Upgrade or leave?

Hello, I wonder if i could upgrade my computer graphic card from a GTX 550 TI to a GTX 660 TI and if i should do it?
Im not very good with Graphic cards and i need help as soon as possible 🙁

Specs:
16.0 GB Dual-Channel DD R 3 @ 669 MHz (9-9-9-24)
1023 MB Ge Force GT X 550 Ti (ASUS tek Computer Inc)
Bulldozer FX-6100 6 Cores 3.3GHZ
32 inch Samsung screen
Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer INC. M5A78L-M/USB3 (AM3R2)

While that is a worthy upgrade, you might want to look at the 7950 depending on how much you are paying for that 660ti. The most I would pay is 270 maybe 280 for a 660ti.

A gtx 660ti is a nice upgrade from a gtx550ti, and as It_dan_zsu said a hd7950 is also a good option. The hd7950 has more memory so if you play at very high resolutions it would be a good option. I notice you have a 32in. monitor, is it 1920x1080 or does it have a higher resolution?

I Checked The Price of a AMD 7950 Its 280 But the GTX 660 TI Is a 2gb For 215 Which One Do i Actually get and Which one will FIT My Pc ?

A 660Ti would be sufficient at your resolution and it will be a quantum leap over your 550Ti the 660Ti is a different tiered product.

Same deal with the 600 series the number scheme.

Wait... So the 660 TI is the same as a 560 TI? Or will the 660 TI a bit higher end than the 560TI?
I said this because i have been watching gameplay From Games with the 660 ti.
I Mostly Play Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Arma 2: Operation ArrowHead (Dayz Mod) And Crysis 2 (planning to get the Crysis 3)

Aah I see so I can Get an Upgrade and it will FIT inside my Pc..?
I ask this because i dont want my pc to break or anything like that.. And if i buy it and i cant return it
it doesnt fit ill have to buy another motherboard? (I dont want that to happen)

Hey,

If you can get the gtx660ti for $65 cheaper then I would go with that, as it is perfectly capable of handling games at 1920x1080.
A reference gtx660ti is not very long and should fit in a vareity of cases. What case do you have? Unless its a rather small case then it should fit.

What i mean is if like.. it doesnt matter if my motherboard doesnt/does support PCI 3?

No, your motherboard does not have to support pcie 3.0, it will work fine with no noticeable difference with pcie 2.0. Both the gtx660ti and hd7950 are pcie 3.0 but they are backwards compatible with pcie 2.0 so don't worry about that.

People with AMD boards at the moment don't have PCI-Express 3.0 and they are just fine 2.0 is just fine with the current cards. And without knowing the case you have its hard to say whether it would fit or not.

We need to know what case you are using to know if it will fit or not. If its a full tower then it should be no problem at all, but if its a smaller mid tower then it would depend on what case you have.

I don't like that it uses more the one 12v rail but it should do the trick quite well. If you take a look at what nvidia suggests you are in the clear.

I guess its just personal preference both are good cards. The power edition card has a factory overclock where as depending on the DCUII card you are looking at it may not. Either way both cards will feel the same performance wise and if you get a game you want from one and not the other then perhaps the better value is with the ASUS card for you.
