Right, I need help

Im currently upgrading my current system, I already have the GPU, SSD and RAM solved im now stuck on the CPU Should i use the i7-7700K or should i spend more for the 8th Gen?

i'll use my system for Heavy Gaming plus some Editing and a bit Rendering,
I dont know what should i chose,

I have the motherboard to support the i7-7700K
but i need to spend more on the i7-8700K since i need to buy the Motherboard also.

I need to save money but im lazy to upgrade it later when i have the chance since i know it wont be worth it to upgrade form 7th gen to 8th gen

Help.

Don't buy a B360 board to go with a K series CPU. The B360 does not support CPU overclocking. Only pair K series CPU's with Z series motherboards. And for Asus Z series boards, I wouldn't go with anything lower than the Prime Z370-A or Prime Z390-A. Here in the USA, the Z370-A is a pricey special order item now and the Z390-A is actually less expensive. The Z390-A is compatible with the 8700K, but do some Google searches to get opinions on how perfect the compatibility is.

Asus charges a bit of a premium for their boards, but they are generally considered to have the best BIOS in the business. For similar features and usually less money, consider Asrock as another alternative. Do your homework and look for good audio, good ethernet and...
8700k, not just for the performance wise, wich is somewhat in between 10% better overall, but it has 6 cores and 12 threads, 4 cores and 8 threads is not desirable anymore, but will still do trick thought, if you can go for 87, if the 77 is filthy cheap then you can still consider...

Well.. actually here is the price for now in my country.
i7-7700K = 406 USD
i7-8700K = 469 USD

about 63 USD diffrent

Plus i need to buy a new Motherboard for the 8th Gen if im going with it so overall

i7-7700K + Current Motherboard = 406 USD
i7-8700K + New Motherboard = 469 USD + 181 USD = 650 USD

For the motherboard i chose its the ASUS TUF B360 Pro Gaming (Wifi)

Is it worth it tough?

You're right theres that, Z390 motherboard will support 8 and 9 gen... talking future proof wise going for the 7th gen is unadvisable, and again, 4/8 cores... not that desirable nowadays, so... i guess you should rule 7th gen out...

Still, if possible, i'd delay, im still waiting to see how this 10nm intel's dilemma will unfold, 9th gen is just the refresh of the refresh, something to respond to AMD threat... i dont consider it a real gen... and who could tell if the Z390 will support the 10th gen cpus? anyways if you need to upgrade, 8700k is certainly the better choice, if you're lucky enough z390 will support 10th gen, so theres room for future improvements.

EDIT, wait, did you said B350? thats AMD chipset... you need Z390

wait for 10th gen. which is likely to be 10nm
and if you looking for work too move to AMD, Intel is only good for games now. (in this case wait for 3rd gen ryzen)

there is no point upgrading from 7th gen right now, unless you use your PC to make a living or you just Rich

Well yeah i think you are right i should just go for the 8th gen
any recommendation for the Motherboard?
Im on a budget right now and i dont really that good at picking Motherboard and since this motherboard will be my motherboard for next 2/3 Years before i will do another Major upgrade

and Correction i just review it again and it said TUF B360-PRO GAMING
sorry about that

and at the website it said that TUF B360 support 8th Gen Intel Processor

I was about to pick an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X but seeing the 3rd Gen will come i think its not worth it to buy it right now.

and i dont have the time to wait i really need this PC this month, and even if i wait i still need to wait for the product to come to my country wich usually takes around 1 - 2 Month from initial release

-well in that case if you want something purely for gaming get 9th gen, get 8th gen only if you getting a significant discount. intel is still a boss on single core performance and have edge over AMD when it comes to games.
-if you do gaming+streaming or other workloads then AMD u get advantage of their more threads, and AMD chips are a bit cheaper than intel too.

and since you getting a new motherboard you can look in to AMD too
