Hi,
in some games I run into FPS limits while my GPU and CPU utilization (on all cores) are well below 100%
I have the following system:
CPU: Intel i9 10900K @ Stock
GPU: Gainward Phoenix GS 2080 TI (at stock)
RAM: G.Skill 32GB @ 4000 Mhz (CL 19-19-19-39)
Mainboard: Asus Prime Z490-A
PSU: Corsair 850 Watt
Storage: 3x SSDs, no HDD
OS; Windows 10 w. latest updates
When uncapping the FPS in games such as Witcher 3 and Deus-Ex Mankind Divided I can see that the GPU and CPU utilization never reaches 100% at any given time. If i cap the FPS to, say, 120 it works for the most part but I get Frametime Spikes every other second even in spots where I would normally see 200+ FPS. If neither the CPU or GPU are causing the Frametime Spikes, I'd like to understand whats actually causing it.
Does anyone have an idea how to identify the bottleneck?
