need help identifying PSU wattage

hey there.

so i have this PSU from some unknown brand called "Orange" i want to find out how much wattage it has but im having a hard time in doing so, this is what the PSU sticker says:
+3.3V&+5V MAX: 220W

im a complete newbie in these things and i have no idea if max 220w is the psu wattage or something else.

If it says the maximum wattage is 220W, and if it is an unknown brand it is prone to failing so an upgrade is always a good option.

With it being an unknown brand, and it also doesn't mention any type of 12V rail, which is expected with ALL PSU's, it most likely has one but may not mention one.

Either that, or the 3.3V and 5V Rail allow a maximum of 220W and the 12V rail allows something more, any chance you could get the model number as it will easily back it up.

i forgot to mention that on the top of the sticker it has ATX12v written on it and PX-400 is the model number

My guess is that it is a 400W PSU with the name being PX-400, also searching it comes up with some PSU's but not sure if it is that PSU directly or not.

on other side of the psu it also has a sticker, here's what it says:

Does it not have a full table, it normally shows the wattage total underneith too, but after searching, it seems to be a 400W PSU. It does seem to be less than that, as it is a really low quality and they never live up to their standards, an upgrade would be best if you're on high usage a lot of the time. This will be prone to failing.

Then it's, for all intents and purposes, a 216W power supply, since components haven't cared heavily about those lesser rails for 15 years. Any safe upgrade will likely involve a new power supply.

Again, if you treat it like an actual 400W PSU, you're going to have a bad time.

The RMx series, I believe are great PSUs compared to their past.

But 750W is definitely overkill if you're currently running on technically, 220W.

I would recommend something like the Seasonic S12ii 520W PSU, or if you can afford it, something along the lines of the EVGA Supernova G2/G3 550W PSU.

This would allow a nice headroom, and also allow a good upgrade path in the future, as it will support most builds.

It's not necessarily the best choice, but it is a very reasonable one and it is highly recommended, EVGA is one of the best companies to purchase higher-end PSU's from.
