I have 2 OS's installed on 1xSSD (Windows 8.1), 1xHDD( Ubuntu 14.04)

I recently did a clean install of ubuntu on the HDD. I had the sata and power cable to SSD removed while doing so because in the past it had caused problems with the bootloader. After install I usually reconnect the SSD and boot into Ubuntu HDD. But this time, I did the reboot after install, but did not connect SSD and booted directly in to the HDD (ubuntu). So now rebooted again and gone into BIOS to set boot priority for drives. I select SSD as 1st priority. But it gives me the "choose proper boot device or media" some of that error. I am able to boot Widnows 8 SSD from the GNU Grub menu by manually selecting it.

But I want the PC to go back to origianl working setting where simply it would happily boot 1st priority "Windows SSD" first..instead of passing that error. How do I do it?

Do I have to configure bootloader from Linux or Windows?

Solution
Although this guide is for Windows 7 / Ubuntu, same principle applies to Windows 8.1

The solution seems pretty straight to the point. I will give this a try. Thanks <3
