Need Help in choosing a monitor! XB271HU or X34 ?

A price difference of SGD 300, is worth getting less hz but more screen size ?

More to the point can your graphics card handle either of them? You're looking at least at 1070 to run things at a respectable rate

Either is a good choice but if your playing FPS competitive games the 144hz might be the better choice, however, if your playing less competitive games, MMOs or single player games I would go with the X34. I saw a demo of the X34 at a local store and I will say that pictures don't justify how beautiful this screen is and the 100hz refresh rate IMO is plenty for any game.

How can you recommend either when you don't know what graphics card he's running? He could have a 960 and not be able to run anything at playable rates.

Should look awesome on the x34, though windows itself may look a little weird with the xtra width.

Not every game will scale to the 21:9 ratio but worse case scenario you will need to scale it to 16:9 which will case a black bar on each side of the screen or the screen will be stretched but this should be very rare and shouldn't ruin the gaming experience if you do have to change it to 16:9 or a similar ratio.
