I want to upgrade my pre-built PC so I can play some good titles at medium settings.

It's pretty old (~7 years) -

CPU - Core i5 760 2.8 GHz
MOBO - Dell motherboard. Model - 0G3HR7 (PCI one 124-pin connector
PCI Express x1 two 36-pin connectors
PCI Express x16 one 164-pin connector)
Memory - 6 GB DDR3
GPU - AMD Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB.

It was beast back in the day, but barely runs anything now.

I'm fine with the CPU and RAM, but the GPU is underwhelming.
I'm looking at the Radeon RX 460 to replace my current GPU, but I'm worried that it wont be compatible with my MOBO.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

(PC is the Dell Studio XPS 8100 BTW)

CPU - upgrade to i7 870
MOBO - Dell motherboard. Model - 0G3HR7 (PCI one 124-pin connector
PCI Express x1 two 36-pin connectors
PCI Express x16 one 164-pin connector)
Memory - get at least 16gb DDR3, they don't cost much
GPU - AMD Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB.

not sure, but if you use your i5 your new GPU might bottleneck it. you can go with 4gb 480 or 3gb 1060, they both should work
