6+2 will work perfectly, if you have 12 pins, that means you only have 2 six pin connectors on the card, which means you can just leave the extra 2 out.
So use PCI 6+2? I used the one of the adapters that came with card. So now the cup boots up with card but very slowly. I haven't installed the drivers yet. Is the card drawing to much power? Also if I use the power cable labeled pci-e I should plug one part which is the six and the other with is like only a single plug with 2 socket connections leaving four open socket connection?
Sorry I'm still learning
I don't really understand what you mean, you need to use the correct amount of pins on the connectors, you can use a 6+2 (without the 2) and a 6 pin.[/quot
When I tried just the six it told me to plug in the PCI-E then I plugged in the PCI-e and then it was a bit difficult to get the the other slot. But I found an extra connection for the adapter that came with the card and just ended up using both 6's. The boot up fine. Well at first there was nothing and then I realize I unplugged the main drive. after I booted up and usually my CPU boots up quick so I was curious does installing a new card slow down the booting up because may draw more power? and it's working looks great
