Hey all! I have a samsung evo 860 1tb SSD installed in my PC at the moment and I am running short on storage so I would like to buy another SSD with the exact same model so I have more room for games and such but I want my windows 10 OS to not mess up somehow or be transferred to the new SSD. When installing the SSD I believe that I connect the Sata cable to the motherboard and the other one using the PSU cable and then start my PC but after that I am not too sure how to proceed on installing a second SSD as have never done this before. Many thanks for anyone who can help :)

Solution
Multiple storage devices in a system is very very common. (see my parts list below)

The OS won't magically transfer to the new drive.
Connect the SATA power and data cables, and it should just appear as another drive letter. D or E perhaps.
At most, you'd have to go into Disk Management and Initialize it.
