sorry if I posted in the wrong part of the forum. Not sure where to ask help on printers.
hi, this morning I was trying to install a printer sent by my Aunt who lives in the US.
I received only the printer, no power cable, and no usb cable. Fortunately, my brother had cables from his old printer..
1, The power cable works and the printer is able to turn on. We can access the menu screen.
2. The usb cable when plugged to the pc, the pc says "device not recognized".
3. Went to the official HP website to download drivers. https://support.hp.com/us-en/driver...l-in-one-printer-series/5169038/model/5169040
4. Drivers installed succesfully on the pc, but the printer is still "device not recognized" via the usb cable. After a bit of research, it seems this printer is only compatible with Windows 8.
I'm seeing two possible problems. First is we might have the wrong usb cable. Second, is the printer might not actually work on Windows 10.
assistance on possible fixes is appreciated. thanks.
