ok so i have a 2TB hard drive that i just installed into my pc and i cant get windows 7 professional 64 bit to install i get this error Windows Setup could not configure Windows on this computer’s hardware. how do i get it to install this is the only drive i have i dont have any others to use for my os
edit my pc is an HPz400 workstation with 12 gigs ram and a xeon 3520 cpu

Hi Emily, Okay. The Hdd shouldn't be an issue. I am assuming that the copy of Windows is an OEM copy. This is a Builders copy and once installed, it stays with the Machine. If it has previously been installed on another machine, then you cannot reinstall it on another machine. It takes a "Snapshot" of the Motherboard when it is installed. If it sees something different, it will not install. With a Retail Copy it is a bit different. That can be moved from one one machine to another but can only be installed on one machine at a time. I have a Retail copy of Windows 7 and it has been ob two different machines and and additional two upgrades ( that involved a new motherboard and Processor ) on this one. In fact I just did an upgrade and had to get it reauthorized last night. You can't do that with an OEM copy. Just throwing that out there as there wasn't much about the OS.
