Need help installing.

hello,

i have a problem whe trying to instal Centos 6.
when i have my cd inside my laptop i cant get past the boot screen.
it gets stuck on it and if it would help i have a HP Compaq 6730b.

When you "cant get past the boot screen" what exactly is going on?
- Can you even boot to the CD? Does it actually run?
- Is the screen freezing at the first screen after booting the CD?
- Are you seeing ANY error messages? Or messages at all?

Without knowing the error messages it is hard to tell. What is the cpu of your laptop? One possible issue could using an ISO to be use only with a certain cpu architecture. Such as i386, i686 for 32 bit and x86 for 64 bit; that go with Intel chips, and AMD and AMD 64 for well AMD chips.

untill the hp logo it boots then it is stuck.

no message at all but my caps and numlock are blinking every 5 minutes.

my cpu is a intel celeron 2

yes it succesfully boots windows xp vista and 7
