I decided to install LatencyMon and try it out after years of on-and-off trouble with audio lag, crackling, glitching, etc. Here are the results:
"Your system appears to be having trouble handling real-time audio and other tasks. You are likely to experience buffer underruns appearing as drop outs, clicks or pops. One or more DPC routines that belong to a driver running in your system appear to be executing for too long. At least one detected problem appears to be network related. In case you are using a WLAN adapter, try disabling it to get better results. One problem may be related to power management, disable CPU throttling settings in Control Panel and BIOS setup. Check for BIOS updates."
The rest of the results (didn't want to put the entire output into this one post): https://pastebin.com/aAsj6ZuH
Based on the limited research I've done, it seems as though there's a multitude of things I could do to fix these problems. What is the best place to start for me?
