Need help, looking at a new system.

Hey, i just want another pair of eyes to check and see if these parts are up to par, haven't built a PC for myself yet and i'm making this my first one. My budget i was looking at keeping below $1200.00. Overall i was looking for Medium entry quality which i think I've achieved but mainly, i'm not sure if i have the prices where i need them or if i could cut something off somewhere.

you take a bit of a hit when it comes to cpu... but you gain on the gpu.

the 5900rpm hdd you picked is slow.

the gtx650 is underpowered

the intel i5-3570k is ivy bridge (last generation). it might be worth an upgrade to haswell.

is that monitor set in stone or are cheaper alternatives acceptable?

Thank you ssddx for the responce and no, nothing in that line-up was set in stone, like the fans and the thermal paste you could just overlook. And for AMD Radeon, i really like the selections you have, didn't realize ivy bridge was that oudated.

well ivy brigdge isnt *that* outdated. it is still relevant. however considering haswell isnt too much more... its not much of an issue.

yeah, see im more up to-date with software more than i am with hardware (x.x) so i'm not familiar with nothing. I did like the build you provided and i recommended it to a friend, but im not really into AMD processors, but i thank you kindly regardless. And you've helped me to start seeing what parts are more popular than other's as i'm starting to see a trend.

I should have specified that I am kinda Intel exclusive.

you can make a similar build with intel... but its going to cost $150 more simply because intel is charging much more for the cpus (+$100) and the z87 boards are more expensive than the amd boards ($20-50)
