I recently bought a 120 GB ssd and I already have 1 TB hard drive. I am not sure how to make the ssd boot windows 8.1 and have the hdd just be the storage. I just want the os and one video game on the ssd and everything else stay on the hdd. I have already read through many tutorials but I just can't understand them. Can anyone put in layman terms.

Solution
backup the hdd (because you never know when there really was something you wanted on there)
Disconnect the HDD.
Install the ssd. (usually to the lowest numbered sata port)
Set the bios to boot to the optical drive (or usb if installing windows from a usb stick)
Install windows to SSD
Set bios to boot from the SSD
Install hdd on next sata port.
boot from ssd and use windows disk management to format the hdd.
Install the rest of your stuff
