Question Need help, my computer turns on but only black screen with cursor can only be seen

As the title says but I can still see and move my onscreen mouse cursor on the black screen...

I can also still hear all my CPU and GPU fans running normally...

Specs:
MSI Z87 Mpower MAX
Intel 4670k
MSITwin frozr iii 7970
Samsung boot drive128gb SSD
Seagate barracuda 3tb
Corsair DDR 3 Vengeance 8x2 1600mhz

Had to consult here for2nd-3rd opinion because 2 months ago my rig keeps suddenly cutting to black screen but all cpu/gpu fans are running normally... no throttling whatsoever so my prime suspect is the RAM sticks going bad and is in need of replacement?

make and model of the psu?
test with just the igpu?

Thank you for the reply, forgot about the PSU

it's a corsair AX 760 (this is the analog one with corsair "partnering" with seasonic)
and had fixed my issue with windows 7's start-up repair tool... apparently it was a boot file that got corrupted, but still thanks for the reply

note: bought a OCPC DDR 3 1600mhz ram (8GB) for future troubleshooting (though honestly it was supposed to replace the rams I had in but hey the problem kinda,sorta worked itself out)
