So this is what happen.Ok so the last time this was used it ran perfectly, then my son accidentally split a tiny bit of soda did NOT spill on the keyboard, it spilled only on the power button area, it was only a little bit, he wiped it off and continued to use the computer the rest of that night. He powered it off and in the morning could not turn it back on as the power button is now stuck from the sticky pop and will not push in to turn the computer on. Its as if the soda pop dried up around the power button so now that button does not work.

Solution
Yeah, sticky sugary liquids do just that. If you are very careful you might be able to use some rubbing alcohol to get it loose. But it is going to take time to get it all off. If you can get to it all.

Make sure you unplug it and remove the battery before doing this though. And leave it to dry for a long while (hours) before putting back the battery and power. Don't want to fry anything. The power button may seem stiff for a while after this, and it only takes a drop of the stuff to still be on it for that to happen, but it should work again.

If this doesn't resolve it, you will have to replace the button.
